The Detroit Chapter began in fall 2001 and has grown to over 200 volunteers, brightening the day of over 1,000 children.

For ten years now, For a Day-Detroit Chapter has been visiting Camp Quality on the day of their big dance. Volunteers from all over came to help get the kids all dolled up for the royal ball. It just so happened this year that there was a tornado and storm watch during the event so all 68 children and their companions were directed to the basement area to partake in our activities. Who looks more forward to our group going to Camp Quality for the last 12 years? It’s really a toss-up between the volunteers or the kids who know that we’re coming! We had 20 girls and 23 boys this year and all of their companions (43) join us in the dining hall. Click here to read more about our visit!

Another successful fashion show concluded on May 3, 2015. It’s hard to believe, but this was our 8th Annual Fashion Show. Many of our models have been in the show since we started the event years ago and it’s been absolutely amazing to watch them grow from adorable timid youngsters learning their way around the runway to stunning, grown, and strong teenagers (and some are even…gasp…adults….Where does the time go?!!) who owned the runway this year. Two of our models, Billie and Stephanie, graduated from our event this year as they celebrated their 21st birthdays! (click to read more)

What an exciting afternoon Haley and I had at DeVos Children’s Hospital. I was not only honored to bring the For A Day Foundation to DeVos, but thrilled that Haley Williams, Miss Michigan 2013 joined me.
