We treated 5 young ladies to a special Queen for a Day party.

We saw 11 girls and 5 boys.

Not all visits come together! We were scheduled to bring Queen & Hero for a Day to Hassenfeld, but our volunteers weren’t able to make it due to work commitments and a cold. So, we dropped off about 20 Queen for a Day kits of Almay palettes and tiaras; and a few superhero capes for the kids to entertain themselves.

We treated 9 girls to tiaras and Almay, and one boy to a superhero cape and mask!

We brightened up the day with play and Almay!

...As we colored with one of the kids, we overheard the parents appreciating our visit to the staff. They said their daughter hasn't been as cooperative in coming to her appointments lately, but when they found out there was a special event today, she was eager to get there. I was humbled to hear, yet again, how our presence was enough to make things just a tad easier on the kids and their parents. It's why we're here.

The ChildLife Coordinators at our partner facilities work so hard to keep the kids' and families' spirits up and we love being a resource for the team! We were asked to provide a special Queen for a Day visit for a particular patient today, so we went all out!

It's been over two years since the NYC chapter has visited Tisch Hospital and we were excited to return! This time, our volunteers were supplied by Indira Couture, a custom couture fashion company bringing affordable custom gowns to fashion fans.
